Henry Lascelles

Having studied with Max Abrams and John Marshall, Henry turned professional in 1972 and over the years has worked with many different bands playing rock, funk, blues and jazz. Highlights included gigs with Lene Lovich, Paul Young, and Alexis Korner. (He also jammed with Keith Richards at a wedding - but keeps quiet about his role on a hit by Marmalade!)In 1999 after a break away from drumming, Henry was coaxed into playing with the reformed Global Village Trucking Company with musicians who had worked with Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, the Pretenders, Eurhythmics, and Steve Harley, and discovered that the urge to perform was still very much alive. On relocating to East Anglia (for love), he started teaching drums and the Lascelles Drum School now has a waiting list of students. As well as The BBs, Henry also currently plays with News of the Victory (with Uli Schwabe), Mark Fawcett Band, The Kesh, and after a gap of over 20 years, Lene Lovich.

Gear: The old Camco Kit has finally gone into retirement. Henry now has a shiny new set of Sonor Delite drums with Zildjian cymbals, which he attacks with Vic Firth sticks and cocoons in Protection Racket cases.
